Homework is a responsibility that involves the teacher, student, and parent. Students who consistently do homework perform better academically than those who do not do homework. If the student uses his/her time wisely in class, there should be no more than an hour of homework each night. Some children need more study time, but if after two hours the work is incomplete the parent should send a note the next day explaining the circumstances.
Teachers will write the assignments on the board and explain the directions. Students are expected to use an assignment book daily, complete the work neatly, and turn it in on time. Late work will result in a lower grade unless accompanied by a written excuse from the parent. In case of absence, a classmate (or STUDY BUDDY) should be contacted.
