When it is time to do homework, a quiet area is best. The place your child does homework should be away from TV or other distractions. Sometimes working at a dining room table while dinner is being made can give them an opportunity to study independently while you are close if they get “stuck”.
Students require
a certain amount of materials on hand. A shoe box works fine and
should contain as many of these items as possible: paper, sharpened pencils,
eraser, a student dictionary, ruler, tape, glue, colored pencils, black
or blue ink pen (erasables are nice), and a small stapler.
