Snow
Days

Snow days are always
exciting for children. They are a fun opportunity to play in the
cold, wet, slippery world of SNOW.
But learning
does not have to stop because of a snow day. Some part of the day
can be spent with a little learning too.
I will give
the children special assignments if snow is predicted, but sometimes these
days hit us without much warning. If we have an unexpected snow day,
keep a regular homework schedule. Children can always:
-
study Spelling words
-
write sentences using as many Spelling words
as possible
-
study for upcoming tests
-
write a story or journal entry about their fun
in the snow
-
beginning in January we will have reports to
work on
-
read a book, the newspaper, or a magazine
-
review what we have been covering in Science
or Social Studies
-
if you have Internet service at home, get on
the Yahooligans web site and see if their is information about something
we are currently studying in class, or if there is something interesting
you want to know more about
When winter white
stuff hits, have fun, but don't stop learning.
