Dear Parent(s),
Hi! My name is Elizabeth (Liz) Green and I am going to be your child’s teacher this year. I am very excited about the possibility of working closely with you and your child. I have a lot of things planned and I am looking for my first year as a full time teacher to be an exceptional one. For starters though, I would like to introduce myself. I have been a lifelong resident of Athens, and love it here so much that I have decided to continue making my home here after graduation. Last fall, I completed my student teaching in 2nd grade, and graduated from the Ohio University School of Education. I spent the remainder of last year gaining valuable experience as a substitute teacher at most of the schools in our area. I also spent two months as a permanent substitute teacher in a 3rd grade classroom at Trimble Elementary School. I have spent much of the summer taking classes to further my education, and preparing for the upcoming year. So far, I have felt tremendous support from the staff at Morisson Elementary. I look forward to achieving high standards for both my students and myself. I know that our classroom will be a place where we can gain valuable knowledge through hands-on activities, group work, and a respectful community of learners.
I have very high expectations for the upcoming year. In order to meet these expectations I thought it would be important to share my goals with you. I have included some important information regarding our classroom procedures, and the responsibilities of your child within this packet. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or just to chat throughout the year. I am available for conferences between 3:40 an d 4:15pm. You can reach me by calling the school directly at 593-5445. If I am not available at the time of your call please leave a message with Mrs. Bennett (our school receptionist) and I will get back with you as soon as I can.

        Sincerely,
        Elizabeth A. Green
