Friends of the Library
Purpose of the FRIENDS
The PURPOSE of the FRIENDS is to support and encourage library programs and services
in response to the needs of our Gallia County community.
FRIENDS encourage the use of the library and its services through
reading, educational, and research activities.
What do FRIENDS do?
...A FRIEND encourages an interest in reading.
As a group, you can share ideas on programs and projects to stimulate reading and library use.
....A FRIEND makes the community aware of the positive influence of our
Gallia County District Library.
The voting public supports the library through operating levies. Your help may be requested to gain public approval of these levies through letter writing, phone canvassing or general campaigning.
....A FRIEND is involved in fund raising activities.
The funds provide for the special purchases or special library programs and promotions
held throughout the year.
Usually, BOOK SALES are held in the SPRING and the FALL.
You can help with any aspect of these sales: carrying, pricing, selling or packing.
