This site was the third site unveiled to me while talking to Pat Tabler of Kilvert and Jane Linscott of Amesville about my project. They both mentioned that a house on Kasler Creek was rumored to be a station on the underground railroad. After a visit to the house I learned that there is a hidden room in the house that was used by fugitive slaves. Mrs. McBride, a current owner of the house, showed a hidden door that was cemented shut and took me to the attic where there is a supposed trap door. Although we were unable to find the door, there have been several sources that mentioned seeing the door as children.
