                                     RE: Monthly GIS Progress Report
Commissioners:
 
JB and Darren met with the County Auditor regarding ILGARD's proposal
to create a website that will allow on-line users access to the full
CAMA database.  The first (initial development of programming and web
design) phase will begin soon.
 
We are considering developing our County Map as a GIS project to be
initially done by ILGARD.  The map would be updated far more
frequently as an ongoing GIS project.
 
The attribute data editing for our Soils project was completed in mid
September and a download was provided to the digitizing unit. As
quality reviews were done, some questions were noted in the joins with
adjacent counties. Check plots have been sent for checking.  As soon
as these issues are resolved the digitizing unit will proceed with the
certification process.  We should receive data before the end of the
year.
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be
November 20th at 10:00 A.M., in the ILGARD conference room.
