Our GIS Steering Committee met:
 
JB reported that the GPS work was completed on all lanes of the new
US 33 Highway.  The GPS trace matched well with the ODOT drawings.
 
Matt Trainer prepared Voting Precinct maps for Athens City and
Athens County.
 
I asked JB to purchase Microsoft SQL Database software to be installed
on the County ArcIMS Server and will be used as part of the migration
of our GIS to a Geo-database System and eventually to a Spatial Data
Engine (SDE) System.  Funding will be from the 2004 GIS Budget.
 
Darren demonstrated the annotation improvements made from our
ArcView 3.3 Section Map Application as we move to our new
ArcGIS 9.0 ArcMap Section Map Application.
 
ILGARD will develop a demonstration project for the O.U. Office of
Environmental Management and Health, by linking their legacy inventory
database for the Innovations Center to a GIS Floor-plan application.
 
Ken delivered updated splits to ILGARD and reported that the Auditor's
Office has migrated to the new CLT 4.0 CAMA Operating System..
 
The GIS Technical User's Group met:
 
Setting up ESRI ArcPad on Trimble GPS Units was discussed.
Justin has experience with this and will assist ILGARD.
 
A GPS research project at O.U. will be discussed at a future meeting.
Also the Wayne National Forest GIS team will present their SDE System
at a future meeting.
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held January 20, 2005
at 10:00 A.M. in the ILGARD conference room.  Our next GIS User's
Committee meeting will be December 16, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. in the
ILGARD conference room.
