                                RE: Monthly GIS Progress Report
Commissioners:
 
We purchased the new ESRI Survey Analysis software and will begin
to see how soon it may be applied to our Parcel data layer.
Survey Analyst is an extension that runs in ArcGIS 8.3 software,
and is designed to provide surveyors with the tools they need
within a GIS framework.  ESRI's goals are:
 
 * Integrate survey measurements into GIS
 * Improve the accuracy of existing mapped (GIS) features
 * Map new features based on survey measurements
 * Organize survey data in projects
 * Maintain data about and report on the
   spatial accuracy of survey points

Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be
July 17th at 10:00 A.M., in the ILGARD conference room.
