                                  RE: Monthly GIS Progress Report
Commissioners:
 
A progress report from Sanborn Colorado on our orthophoto/elevation
contours project is included with this report.
 
ILGARD progress continues on our Parcel Conversion Project.
All Annotation has passed quality control; all townships except
Trimble have passed the deed check phase; Annotation has been fit in
all but 4 townships; parcel identification number quality control
checks are underway; and parcel splits and fraction and section
annotation are ongoing.
 
Jill Thompson is working with ILGARD to have an automated One-Mile
Section Plat Map system developed.  Section Maps closely resembling
our traditional plat maps, will be created from our most current data
with only a few mouse clicks.  This important application will meet
identified transitional needs of the Auditor's staff and citizens.
 
ODNR Natural Resources Conservation Service who is developing our new
GIS Soils Layer is on schedule for completion at the end of this year.
Our land-use and Land-cover layers are scheduled for completion by the
end of 2003 and 2004 respectively.
 
AEP has relocated our service pole and we have relocated our natural
gas lines.  Our Engineer/GIS addition is scheduled for bid
advertisement before the end of the year.
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held
September 19, 2002, 10:30 A.M., at the ILGARD conference room.

Project Status Report
 
Project Name:        Athens County Orthophotography & Contour Project
Sanborn Project No.:    000406
Date of Report:         August 19, 2002 (Status Report No. 12)
Reporting Period:       July 27 - August 15, 2002

The following report summarizes project activities completed over the
past two weeks and planned over the next similar time period.  It also
contains information regarding important issues, procedures, action
items, and goals associated with this project. Please contact Karen
Adkins at Sanborn if you have any questions or comments regarding the
information in this report or the progress of the project.
 
Major Activities Completed:
 
      None at this time.
 
Project Status:
 
The formal pilot review scheduled for 7/31/02 was cancelled per mutual
agreement between Archie Stanley and Karen Adkins.
 
Compilation has again been delayed due to lack of available resources
and is not expected to begin until early September.  This is not
expected to impact the overall project schedule, but is expected to
delay the delivery of the project orthoimagery by approximately 6
weeks.  Interim delivery dates have been outlined and provided with
this status report.

Apply resources to avoid future schedule delays on the project.
 
Action Item Status:
 
Compilation has been delayed 6 weeks from original schedule start
date.  Resources will be applied to minimize impact to delivery
schedule.

Begin compilation of the project DTM at earliest possible date.

  Begin compilation of Area 1 DTM.
