Dear Mr. C.
A decade has past since I last contacted you. I appologize to the far most degree. Mr. C. it's me, Brahm, "The Indonesian Kid" I was in your 5th grade class some 10 years ago. When you were still teaching the 5th grade and Mr. Boger was the principle.

I was browsing the internet today finding resources on the internet for a term paper by my Lecturer about education levels and the corellation with a country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) " economic term, and overall development bla bla bla and God just made me look East Elementary on the net and bingo, I found your e-mail address.

Mr. C., to just inform you about my where-abouts, I'm currently majoring Developmental Economic Studies in UII, Jogjakarta, Indonesia currently in the 5th semester.

Juzt to tell you a bit of what happen since I moved back from the Athens, Oh.When I first came back in 1993 I was shocked. I mean really shocked about what happens in Indonesia. I was raised in the US since I was 8 months old and enjoyed the luxuries of the west, cars, free coffee at the gas station, cheap gas, wide roads, good residencial areas, a more then complete library, etc. then I came back here and see none of that. Well thats life in where live people still live very urban places, education is for "the have" of the society, and everything wasn't right, military oppresion, military kidapping, and every worse thing of the 3rd world countries.

2 years afeter  I came back, Junior High, I saw a clash between demonstrators and military official that took away around 20 lives, these things don't get the word arround, the press is part of the govenment, a you can see why.

After the sucessful downfall of former president Soeharto in May of 1998, things began to start going better, but there is still friction in the society, the internet was widly introduced in 2000, the military was on intensly under International observation, and my life to go better.

Well I just want to re-open a bridge of communication between us and my fellow classmates. Heather, Jenny, Niki, Rob, Pat, Amanda, and all of my friends. Please help find them sir, I you can.

Sincerely,

Brahm S. Soedjono.

I'm Junaidah Md Din, Malaysia, I was from Mrs Poole's
class in 86/87 during 2nd Grade; and Mrs Carney's
class in 87/88 for 3rd Grade(and also Ms Herman's
reading class). I still remember a few of my
friends-Jay and Sean. I wonder what they are doing
now, hopefully reading this.

I'm teaching English to everyone-school/college/
workers here in Malaysia.

My learning experience in East Elementary has effected
so much on how I teach my students/ trainees. Most
Malaysian teachers (usually the senior ones) are still
practising the strict and fierce teaching method;
teacher will instruct or yell and the student will do
it without no questions asked. And the teachers are
usually unapproachable for casual conversation. This
is very different when I studied at East Elementary
where teachers are very friendly and lovable. Your
guys teaching's effects on me has made it easier for
my students to learn differently from the Malaysian
traditional teaching cocoon.

So, thank you.
