Ms Kasler and Mrs Dearing

Ms Kasler and Mrs Dearing plan to provide a traditional classroom grouping of children. Ms Kasler will teach the fourth graders. The next year, Mrs Dearing will have mostly those same students for the fifth grade curriculum. A variety of teaching tools will be utilized such as textbooks,workbooks,and whole class paperback books. Many themes will be used to integrate lessons across the curriculum which will be project related and often utilizing small groups. They plan to share appropriate field trips during the two year program. The teachers plan to trade students for some math activities and reading groups. This will give the teachers and students a chance to become acquainted better during the two year program. Both teachers utilize an assertive discipline plan which allows rewards and consequences for doing homework and following rules. The students will be expected to accept responsibility for their learning and behavior in our classrooms.
