Mission Statement

To preserve, protect, and enhance the quality of life of the people of Athens, through a broad range of professional police services in a community partnership.

City of Athens Police Divisions

    The City of Athens Police Department consists of 29 full-time officers, 7 auxiliary officers, 4 parking enforcement officers, 4 communication officers, 1 parking meter repair specialist, 1 domestic violence specialist, and 3 clerical staff members.  These officers are supplemented by a 9 member Boy Scout Explorer post and 3 senior volunteers.
