   2 p.m. daily tour Monday through Friday and from 1 to 4 p.m.
   Sundays. CLOSED Saturday. Admission charges: $4 adult, $2 children
   under 12. Group tours by appointment (304/375-2129).
      
   Site: 1836 mansion and grounds (listed on National Register of
   Historic Places) with original pre-Civil War furnishings.
   Centerpiece of the 2,000 acres Henderson Plantation.

   Description: Uncatalogued archive of Alexander Henderson and Joseph
   Tomlinson family documents, records, and memorabilia, including
   manuscripts, municipal government records, business records,
   photographs, maps, and blueprints/architectural materials.
   Slave records and artifacts, letter from former slave, emancipation,
   anti-slavery court case (Putnam), etc.

   Scope: pre-1800: 10%; 1800-1860: 30%; 1860-1920: 50%; 1920-present:
