Colleen Flanagan, Mike Hunter and Tom Bolland were the "official" KCDA team. But in the crowd, marching for other organizations were Julia Nehls, Joe Essman, Bob Sympson, and Max Bucey (I'm not sure Max did any walking, but he was wandering around looking important). Let me know if I missed anyone. Most of "us" walked about three miles, "in record time."
Thanks to all of the above.
The length of walk is determined by the walker's choice, but for most will include at least once around the track at Peden Stadium.
The 1999 Heart Walk is in honor of University Mall Walkers, to honor those who have survived heart attacks, and in memory of those who haven't.
Tom Bolland, Colleen Flanagan and Mike Hunter are DAKC "official" walkers. Alan Goldsberry, Marianna Carson, Emmanuel Gevas, Anita Gribble, JoAnne L'Heureau, Howard DeWald and Keith Peterson have made pledges of support.
The walkers are "officially" collecting pledges from friends, neighbors, and other "fellows". If you are one of those, please give Tom Bolland the names of all pledgers ... and the money collected, no later than Thursday morning.
Make checks out to the American Heart Association.
Anita Gribble isn't an "official" walker, but she is trying to get neighbors to contribute. Everyone is encouraged to do the same, if the spirit moves you.
Also, everyone please feel free to show up at Peden Stadium and walk with the "official" walkers. Maybe we can borrow our club banner to carry with us as we walk around Peden Stadium. It'll probably make your day!!!!!
