                                  Re:  GIS Progress Report

ILGARD and I met with LeAx Water District.  Darren is working on
placing attributes needed by LeAx onto the LeAx Geodatabase.
Dave will place ArcView onto the LeAx computer and provide
instruction as to basic operation of transferring to and from the
LeAx computer and ArcPad device; and provide instruction to
LeAx personnel regarding the ArcPad field device and assistance
in collection of needed attributes.
 
Roger will get "AS Built" plans to Matt so that they may be
compared to the already scanned original plans and revisions
made. Roger asked for hyperlinks to be able to click on an
attribute and see pop-up scans of associated photos and documents
regarding that attribute.
 
Top priority for LeAx is to gather line and other attribute data
in areas where no design or as-built plans exist.  They plan to
purchase a line location instrument and a GPS unit for collecting
this data.
 
Our AVL Committee met.  The County Engineer Department will begin
an AVL Pilot Demonstration on it's Snow vehicles yet this year.
This Demo will present the technology to others locally, test the
associated equipment locally, and lead to additional relay
equipment being installed to lessen the number of communication
dead spots and an eventual Countywide AVL capability...
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held
November 15, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the ILGARD conference room.
