Our Enterprise GIS Steering Committee met:
 
ILGARD continues to work with LeAx to develop the LeAx Waterline
mapping project.  LeAx and ILGARD will receive GPS training from
"Map Sync".  LeAx will map their unmapped lines using "Thumper"
water pulsing and GPS technology.  LeAx will be able to make
field edits to their data.  They have acquired Trimble GOXT GPS
receivers.
 
Darren pointed out that our addressing data is extremely helpful
to all GIS applications because the addressed polygon points are
located on the house structure itself.
 
Darren, Ben, and Ken are meeting routinely to ensure that data
transfer procedures enable the parcels to be displayed on our
Enterprise GIS ArcIMS website.  Updated parcel data will be
transferred at least monthly to Darren so that the ArcIMS site
is updated.
 
Darren is working to enable links from and to the ArcIMS and
Auditor's Tax Card sites.  He will also meet with the County
Recorder's Office to see about linking their site to our
ArcIMS site.
 
A long range project remains to develop with Real Estate and
Chamber of Commerce representatives an ArcIMS search capability
that would enable properties for sale to be found through an
extensive search criteria.
 
The Athens City Website will have a link placed on our ArcIMS
site.  We will also invite Ohio University Facilities Management
to allow a link to their site from ArcIMS.
 
ILGARD will make a proposal to Ohio University to develop a
Real Estate based GIS of University owned properties.  An ADA map
is currently available on the Facilities Management website.
 
Ken and Ben are maintaining the County parcel layer and have
purchased a Coordinate Geometry (CoGo) extension to their ArcView
software.  Ben is working separately with Hocking College GIS
to develop a waterline/valves/meters/ taps application for
New Straitsville.
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held
July 17, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the ILGARD conference room.
