                                RE: Monthly GIS Progress Report

Commissioners:

A progress report from Sanborn Colorado on our
orthophoto/elevation contours project is attached.

Our Engineer/GIS Addition building project is scheduled to be bid
in August/September.  We still don't have the final design for
the driveway/parking lot from the City of Athens Consultant
Burgess and Niple.  Once we have it we can finalize our
elevation data and proceed.  Our architectural design is now in
the HVAC design stage.  AEP will soon remove our current service
pole and move our service over to a new pole out of our Addition
building site.  We are scheduling relocation of our gas line for
next month.

ILGARD progress continues on our Parcel Conversion Project.  All
townships have Line Attributes, and Parcel Identification Numbers
completed.  Distance Annotation is complete on all but Athens
Township/City.  Splits and rescans are complete on everyt
hing except Athens City.   Deed Checks are done except for Athens
Township/City, and Trimble and York Townships.  Distance
Annotation Checks remain for Athens Township/City, and Rome and
Trimble Townships.  Annotation capture is completed in Alexander,
Ames, Athens Township/City, Bern, Canaan, and Waterloo Townships.
Annotation fitting has started initially in Alexander Township.

Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held July 18,
2002 at the new ILGARD Facility conference room.  The new ILGARD
facility is in the building furthest west in the line of main
buildings (Building #22).  The conference room number is 214 and
is located directly across the hall as you exit the elevator on
the second floor.  Some parking is available in front of the
building but technically all parking at the Ridges requires a
visitor's pass.  Visitor's passes are available at ILGARD.

Athens County's future.

Project Status Report

Project Name:    Athens County Orthophotography & Contour Project

The following report summarizes project activities completed over
the past six weeks and planned over the next similar time period.
It also contains information regarding important issues,
procedures, action items, and goals associated with this proj
ect. Please contact Karen Adkins at Sanborn if you have any
questions or comments regarding the information in this report or
the progress of the project.

Major Activities Completed:

   Scanning of the aerial photography 100% complete.
   Aerial triangulation of the project area is
          approximately 90% complete.

Project Status:

The film was processed and labeled, and passed inspection.
Scanning of the film negatives was completed on 5/10/02.
Project Communications:

5/7/02   Email from Karen Adkins to Canter Surveying.
         Requested final coordinates for all paneled existing and
         new control point locations, and control report.

5/15/02  Email from Canter Surveying to Karen Adkins.
         Sent ASCII file containing final control coordinates.

Important Issues/Procedures:

   None at this time.

Action Item Status:

   Index grid modifications are in progress.

Requested Action Items:

   Sanborn to modify index grid and add priority areas.

Major Activities Planned for Next Period (May 16 - 31, 2002)

   Finalize tile grid and provide to Archie Stanley for approval.
   Finish AT solution for pilot area.
