Our Steering Committee met.  Tracy White of The Tuppers-Plains Water
District reported that they are looking into having their Line-drawing
and index map documents scanned.  They will meet with ILGARD to view
the LeAx work being accomplished, with the possibility of ILGARD doing
the scanning work under contract.  ODOT orthophotos are being geo-
referenced by ILGARD for use in their US 33 Ravenswood Connector Plat
Reference Project.  Darren and Jill discussed the CAMA Data Viewer
Project and will work to secure a data contact person within CLT to be
accessible to Darren for data transfer discussions.
We discussed the new

Athens County Conveyance Standards and the need for surveyors to
continue to include adjoining property owners in legal descriptions.
 
The County Engineer Highway Map and Web Site Projects are advancing.
Darren will meet with LeAx to firm up the scope of work for their
ILGARD contract to complete scanning and indexing their water line
drawings.
 
The OGRIP Regional Forum meeting was held at the ILGARD Office.
I presented a brief development history and current work of our
Athens County GIS.  Jeff Smith from OGRIP presented an update on
their LBRS Program.  Dave Simon discussed Strategic Planning.
Jeff and Dave discussed the National Hydrographic Dataset.
 
At the request of our Athens County Planner, Darren added a
"measure area" tool on the GIS website. He was able to implement
that function in the

"GIS Access System" webpage, but not the

"Find A Parcel" webpage.
 
It is the same tool you would use to measure distance except now you
will also notice a third info box that includes area in sq feet.
If you want acres just divide the sq feet by 43,560.
 
Darren, and I met with John Collins and Roger VanNest at the Le-Ax
Facility.  Darren demonstrated the Data Viewer that has been developed
by linking scanned water line drawings and customer locations to
overall index maps of the Le-Ax system.
 
We received our new ESRI ArcGIS 9.2 Software.  Sanborn Colorado
continues to progress on our Ortho-photo Update Project.
 
Our next GIS Steering Committee meeting will be held September 15,
2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the ILGARD conference room.
Our next GIS Technical User's Committee meeting will be held
August 18, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. in the ILGARD conference room.
